So I saw this last year and LOVED it, na. I was super excited to get to watch it again when it went streaming. But I gotta say, although much of it is remaining the same, there are a HUGE couple of scenes missing that are changing the entire movie completely. I am so disappointed because it was incredible before, and now it is really feeling watered down in comparison, isn’t it.
The studio must have had some reason for doing this cutting, but man, this is just not as bleak or effective anymore. The impact, it has been lost. Still, it is a beautiful movie, and the cinematography and direction, they are quite excellent. But the film, it is not what it was supposed to be.
I want justice for Bertino and Fanning because this was really an incredibly interesting film before it got the chop. Their work, it deserved to be seen in its full form, na. The vision was there, but it has been compromised now.
Paramount, if you are seeing this, PLEASE RELEASE THE REAL VERSION! Give us back the film that was meant to be watched. The fans, we are asking for this, and the artists, they deserve nothing less than their complete work being shown to the world.
