Cloud Full Movie Review:
A very well-made thriller it is, no? One is witnessing a mounting sense of dread throughout, and the formal control is quite tight exactly as we have come to expect from Kyoshi Kurosawa’s previous films, isn’t it.
While very much effective the picture is, still it is not quite reaching the heights which “Cure” has attained. But there is much to be enjoying here, na. The dry sense of humour, the tension and the scares, the great performances by the cast, and some very well-staged action sequences—all are there. These sequences possess a spatial clarity and tight editing which is rivalling even some of the finest directors working in the genre. Such quality one is rarely seeing in the modern cinema of today, which too often is relying on confusing and excessive editing, creating unnecessary confusion for the viewers.
Regarding the ending, it may prove to be divisive for certain sections of the audience, but somehow it is managing to be simultaneously conventional and experimental, what to say. Certain parts are being left open for interpretation, allowing the viewers to form their own conclusions.
Highly recommended this film is, and one should not be missing it.
